Five new apprentices have joined the council’s successful apprenticeship programme and, after a week of getting to know the council and how it operates, they have taken up their roles across the council and schools in a wide variety of departments.
- Cayla Foster and Millie Thompson are doing business administration apprenticeships. They will be undertaking a level three business administrator standard in the children’s services business support department.
- Jadan Turner is also doing a business administration apprenticeship with the counter fraud team to complete her level three business administrator standard.
- Emma Johnson is doing a business administration apprenticeship. She will be undertaking her level three business administrator standard with colleagues from the internal audit department.
- Nicola Delaney doing a teaching assistant apprenticeship. She has started her level three teaching assistant apprenticeship at St Mary’s CE primary school.
Councillor Rachel Massey, the council’s cabinet member for children’s services and education, said: “We are really proud of our successful apprenticeship programme and it’s always great to see more and more young people take up roles with us. An apprenticeship is a great entry into a variety of careers and gives young people a real chance to earn and learn.”
All the new apprentices are from the borough of Rochdale. They are joining a very successful and highly-acclaimed apprenticeship programme that the council runs. This means the council has now taken over 250 mainly local apprentices in the past six years.
The council currently has 35 vacancies and applications are now open for the September 2023 intake.
