We’re proud to announce that Roch Valley Radio has been awarded £20,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund.
This vital support will help us strengthen our work across Bury and Rochdale, where we proudly serve as the local community radio.
As the trusted voice for Bury and Rochdale that residents turn to, this funding will ensure we stay at the top of our game, delivering what our communities need: news, music, information, and local stories that connect, support and inspire.
We’ve got ambitious plans for the next 12 months across all six towns of Bury, from Ramsbottom to Prestwich and everywhere in between, as well as exciting developments in Rochdale. With this funding, we’ll be able to expand our outside broadcasting, bring in additional state of the art digital equipment, and launch several new initiatives to engage even more local people.
We’re especially proud to support over 160 volunteers, many of whom come to us looking for community, training, or a fresh start. With this grant, we can continue to offer meaningful roles, skills development, and a platform for local voices that might otherwise go unheard.
Community radio is about more than what goes on-air. It’s about belonging, connection, and giving people a chance to be seen and heard. Whether it’s a young person gaining confidence behind the mic, a grassroots group sharing their work, or a neighbour simply hearing a familiar voice, we’re here for all of it.
A big thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund, we’re ready to do even more.
