One of Rochdale’s biggest industrial and retail parks is about to get even bigger.
Sandbrook Park, just south of Rochdale town centre, is home to local businesses as well as major retailers such as McDonald’s, Odeon cinema and Pizza Hut to name just a few. Now Northern Trust Company Ltd, the company behind the plans, wants to expand their offer on the business park.
Just along Sandbrook Way from the retail park a total of nine new industrial units will be built, now planning permission has been approved.
The nine flexible units would be created across four buildings vacant land in the north eastern corner of the business park. With a total of 16,614 sq ft floorspace, the units are seen as ideal for start-up and local businesses.
Blocks A and B will be placed on the northern section of the site with seven units and the rest of the units will be in blocks C and D to the south of the site. An additional 50 parking spaces will also be created, according to the plans.

Planning papers read: “The proposal will help to support economic growth and prosperity of the borough and build on the success of the existing development at Sandbrook Park.
“In allowing a variety of small scale uses to be accommodated, the site will provide greater opportunities for more local businesses.
“The proposal is a positive development that supports local businesses within Rochdale and provides employment opportunities for local residents.”
