Landmarks across Rochdale and Bury have been lit in red, white and blue to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
The illuminations are part of nationwide commemorations marking the end of the Second World War in Europe, when Germany surrendered to Allied forces on 8 May 1945.
Roch Valley Radio HQ is among the local organisations taking part in the tribute, broadcasting themed content to reflect on the historic event and those who served both at home and abroad.
Buildings in both towns are glowing in union jack colours as a visual reminder of the sacrifices made during the war and the peace that followed.
Residents are being encouraged to take a moment to reflect, share wartime stories, and take part in VE Day tributes, either in person or online through national campaigns like #VEDay80.
With very few veterans of the conflict still alive, organisers say it's more important than ever to remember the efforts of a generation that endured one of the most difficult periods in modern history.
