A youth football team in Radcliffe has received a £1000 sponsorship from a Greater Manchester housebuilder for the current season.
Radcliffe Football Club has agreed a sponsorship deal with Barratt Homes to support its Radcliffe Raiders Under 13s side. The housebuilder is currently developing new homes at its Waldmers Wood site close to the club.
The funding will contribute towards new kits and ongoing development for the team, many of whom have been part of the club since early childhood.
The club runs an academy and scholarship programme aimed at developing young players under UEFA qualified coaches. Alongside football training, participants are supported in their college education and pathways into coaching.
Lee Monk, manager at Radcliffe Football Club, said: “We are really thrilled that such a well known, successful housebuilder like Barratt Homes has decided to sponsor our team. A lot of our team have been with the club since they were five to six years old.
“The sponsorship will give us the opportunity to continue their journey as the Radcliffe Raiders. The team is developing really well and this sponsorship funding will help improve our game even further. Radcliffe FC and its affiliation with the youth teams and grassroots football plays a huge part in the local community.
“Radcliffe Raiders Under 13s really appreciate this sponsorship and will wear their shirt with pride, and would all like to thank Barratt Homes for their involvement.”
The Radcliffe FC Academy is based at the Neuven Stadium and runs a two year programme for young players from across Radcliffe, Manchester, Bolton and Bury. The club also hosts open evenings for prospective players.
Rhys Nicholson, managing director at Barratt Homes Manchester, said: “We are proud to sponsor such a well established outfit in Radcliffe FC and we wish the team the very best of luck for the current season and beyond.
“As a leading housebuilder, it’s important to us to support clubs that have a significant presence in the community which help to bring people together and create an identity for everyone involved.”
