A man in his 20s is in hospital following a daytime stabbing in Castleton as police arrest a woman on suspicion of assisting an offender
A man in his 20s has been hospitalised after being stabbed in broad daylight on Croydon Avenue, Castleton. Emergency services were called to the scene around 12.30pm on Monday, 23 June.
Greater Manchester Police, GMP, confirmed the man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains under medical care.
Officers were seen focusing on a property on Croydon Avenue throughout Monday afternoon. A woman in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. She is currently in custody and undergoing questioning.
The primary suspect in the attack has not yet been apprehended.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: “At around 12.30pm yesterday, Monday, 23 June 2025, we were called to reports of a stabbing on Croydon Avenue in Rochdale. Officers attended the scene and located a man in his 20s with injuries. He was taken to hospital where he remains with injuries that are described as non-life-threatening. A woman in her 40s has been arrested in suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in custody for questioning.”
Residents reported a heavy police presence in the area, with officers conducting door-to-door enquiries as investigations continue.
