Police are looking to identify two boys following a robbery in Rochdale.
The incident took place on New Street at around 3.45pm on Sunday afternoon.
It was reported that two boys, aged between 10 and 14, have engaged in an altercation whilst attempting to steal a phone from another boy, who was thought to be around 16, leaving him with knife wounds requiring hospital treatment.
These injuries are not thought to be serious or life-threatening, with the teenage boy in a stable condition.
Following the incident, the boys fled towards Falinge Park.
Detective Inspector Sam Taylor said; “We appreciate that incidents of this nature can be worrying for local residents to hear about, however I want to provide reassurance that we are exploring numerous lines of enquiry to identify the two boys thought to be responsible for this robbery.
“This is being treated as an isolated incident at this time, however if anyone has any concerns, they should contact Rochdale CID policing team.”
