Police are appealing for information after a 79-year-old woman died in a collision with a car on Bury New Road in Prestwich.
The incident occurred at around 8pm on Thursday 5 February. Officers from Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) say the woman was struck by a Volvo S90.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, she died from her injuries.
A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.
Detectives are now urging witnesses to come forward and are particularly keen to review any CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area around the time of the collision.
