Officers are appealing for help to identify a man following two separate reports of indecency on Metrolink services, including one on the Oldham to Rochdale line.
Greater Manchester Police have launched a public appeal after two incidents of indecent behaviour were reported on trams earlier this spring.
The first incident took place at around 11.30pm on Friday 14 April 2025 on the Oldham to Rochdale Metrolink line.
A second, separate incident occurred the following night, on Saturday 15 April, between 11.25pm and 11.40pm, on a tram travelling from Victoria Station to Deansgate Castlefield.
Officers investigating the case have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incidents, as they believe he may be able to assist with ongoing enquiries.
Constable Carl Kelly from the Transport Unit said:
“We are currently investigating two separate incidents of indecency that occurred on Greater Manchester's Metrolink tram network.
“These incidents are deeply concerning, and we want to reassure the public that we take crimes of this nature incredibly seriously.
“No piece of information is too small – even details that might seem insignificant could be vital in helping us identify those responsible. Your support is crucial in helping us to continue to keep our transport network safe for everyone who lives and works in Greater Manchester.”
Anyone with information, or who was on the relevant tram services during the times stated, is urged to come forward.
Details can be submitted via GMP’s 'Live Chat' service on their website, by calling 101, or 999 in an emergency.
Alternatively, anonymous information can be provided through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
