Parklife’s new Panorama Stage is winning over festival goers at Heaton Park

A new stage experience has made its debut at Parklife Festival this weekend, giving music fans a completely different way to enjoy some of the event’s biggest electronic acts.

The Panorama Stage has replaced last year’s Hangar concept and is already proving popular with festival goers.

Thousands of people have travelled to Heaton Park this weekend to watch artists including Sammy Virji, Zara Larsson, Calvin Harris and Skepta.

Away from the festival’s main stages, however, many visitors have been heading to the newly introduced Panorama Stage.

The venue features multi-level dance platforms, a 100 metre curved LED screen and access behind the DJ booth, offering views of both performers and the crowd from several angles.

The design is an evolution of last year’s Hangar stage and aims to create a more immersive experience for fans.

One festival steward said the atmosphere at the stage had been positive throughout the weekend and described it as an improvement on the previous setup.

Visitors using the elevated dance platforms also praised the experience.

One group, speaking after leaving the platform area, said “everyone is respectful, you’re given your own space”.

They added that it was “better than the pit”.

The opening day of the festival saw crowds filling the platforms as sunny weather helped create a lively atmosphere throughout the afternoon and evening.

Performances from Rossi., ALISHA and Cloonee proved particularly popular with those attending the stage on Saturday.

Sunday’s Panorama line up includes Chris Stussy, KETTAMA, Ewan McVicar and Chloe Caillet, with organisers expecting large crowds throughout the day.

As Parklife continues to evolve to keep people coming back, the Panorama Stage appears to have quickly established itself as one of the festival’s standout attractions.
