Over 60s in Rochdale could get grants worth up to £300

Grants of up to £300 are available to retired residents in Rochdale.

Registered charity ‘The Norman Barnes Fund’ managed by Rochdale Borough Council provides financial assistance for people aged 60 and above in Rochdale, Castleton, Norden and Bamford.

It can be used to contribute towards the purchase of household items such as fridges, cookers, carpet and furniture as well as essential home repairs or decorating.

It can also be used towards the cost of a recuperative holiday, or expenses for visiting friends and family. Organisations undertaking work that benefits older people can also apply.

'The Norman Barnes Fund' was established for charitable purposes for the welfare of the elderly, and trust members consider applications all year round, so there’s no closing date, although only one grant can be awarded each year for the same individual or organisation.
