Op Revoke continues to deliver results with suspected class-A drugs seized in Bury

Operation Revoke is continuing to produce results in Bury as officers made a further seizure of drugs this week.

The operation was launched in response to residents' concerns about drug-use and anti-social behaviour in the town, and has seen a district-led crackdown on criminals.

This includes work from specialist officers and county lines teams, who have been disrupting drug dealers and their supply throughout the area.

On Tuesday 12 September, the Revoke enforcement team stopped a vehicle on Wash Lane, Bury, at around 2pm.

Following a foot chase, two males were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class-A and class-B drugs. They were later bailed pending further enquiries.

A large quantity of Class-A drugs, suspected to be heroin and crack cocaine, were recovered following subsequent searches. Plastic snap bags and digital scales were also found, while key intelligence was gathered owing to other items recovered from the scene.

Revoke works closely with partners within the community, building intelligence and acting on it whenever possible.

Sergeant James Donnelly, from the Revoke team, said: “This was another fantastic result for our team, as we have taken harmful drugs off the streets, while gathering essential information on suspected drug dealing.

“Revoke is specifically designed to smash county lines and drug dealers, and we are sending a very clear message to criminals that we will be coming for you. If you are involved in any criminality in the Bury area, you can be sure to expect a knock at the door from us.

“If anyone has any information that they would like to share with us, I would ask that they dial 101, or report it via our website. Alternatively, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
