Neighbourhood officers in Bury seized more than 100 cannabis plants this morning following the execution of a drugs warrant.
Acting on intelligence gathered within the community, officers visited an address in Eldon Street to conduct the work shortly after 7am (6 March 2024).
Within the property, officers discovered 117 cannabis plants, all at the beginning of their grow-cycle.
Officers additionally discovered bypassed electricity in the property, which was subsequently secured and made safe. No arrests have been made at this time.
Sergeant Aaron McFadden, from GMP’s Bury Neighbourhood team, said: “We are committed to taking drugs off the streets of Bury and I am pleased with this morning’s finds. People who sell drugs ruin lives and don’t care for those who are left with addictions, financial problems and other issues.
“Our local neighbourhood team will continue to tackle criminality across Bury wherever it can be found – if it’s an issue for you, it’s an issue for us.
“If you have any information that you wish to share with us, please do – whether you’ve noticed something suspicious on your street or believe criminality is occurring in your area, all of the information we receive adds up and informs our work.
“You can report information by calling police on 101 or via the reporting tool on our website at gmp.police.uk. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
