Neighbourhood officers make three arrests after an early morning warrant in Rochdale

This morning, Rochdale North Neighbourhood Policing team executed a drugs warrant on Fenton Street in the Milkstone and Deeplish area of Rochdale.

A cannabis farm was located and dismantled, and 81 large plants with an estimated street value of £81,000 were seized.

Three men between the ages of 26 and 51 were arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and abstracting electricity and remain all remain in police custody for questioning.

Inspector Meena Yasin of GMP’s Rochdale neighbourhood policing team, said: “Our team of neighbourhood officers and PCSOs are relentless in their pursuit of neighbourhood crimes, we are out daily in the communities we serve.

“We engage with residents, gather intelligence and execute warrants to disrupt criminal activity and are determined to shut down cannabis farms across Rochdale, but we need your help to keep a line of communication between the public and the police.

“The distribution of drugs can result in violent crime, and the exploitation of vulnerable people, the equipment used can be prone to malfunctioning, which has resulted in dangerous fires that have spread to neighbouring homes.”

Police Community Support Officers, Mo and Sully, patrol their community daily and listen to the public’s concerns regarding crime.

PCSO Sully, said: “Mo and I are the eyes and ears of your community – we see what’s going on and the community rely on us to act on information passed across to our team.

“But despite this, sometimes people feel reluctant to report and we have worked really hard to push the importance of reporting concerns about crime. This warrant today shows that when we have the information and intelligence from you, we can and will act on it.”
