Mill Gate Shopping Centre has been shortlisted in three different categories at the Sceptre Awards 2024, a premier event celebrating excellence in the British retail destination management sector.
The Bury shopping centre has been nominated for Centre Manager of the Year, Retail Liaison, and Diversity and Inclusion, highlighting its commitment to creating an inclusive and vibrant shopping environment.
The Sceptre Awards celebrate the best in retail destination management and being shortlisted three times is a significant achievement for Mill Gate.
The awards ceremony will take place in the autumn, with winners announced at a gala event on Wednesday, October 9, at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
“We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for three prestigious awards,” said Angela Tierney, Mill Gate’s Centre Manager.
“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team, who strive to maintain the highest standards across the centre,” she added.
The shopping centre’s team comprises over 30 dedicated staff members, including management, customer service, cleaning, security, and maintenance. Each member plays a crucial role in delivering an exceptional experience for shoppers and visitors alike.
Mill Gate Shopping Centre has implemented several noteworthy initiatives, including the installation of a stoma-friendly facility, the 'Take a Seat' campaign, the relocation of market traders to the centre, and comprehensive training and development programmes.
These initiatives have significantly contributed to the centre's inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
Mill Gate Shopping Centre, located in the heart of Bury town centre, spans over 450,000 square feet and houses more than 130 shops and retail outlets. It features a mix of major stores, household names, and local businesses, making it a key shopping destination in the region.
