Mill Gate Shopping Centre Wins Gold at the International CSR Excellence Awards 2023

The centre features over 120 shops and retail outlets that include major stores and household names together with local businesses.

Mill Gate Shopping Centre in Bury has won the prestigious gold award for its commitment to the community at the International Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Excellence Awards 2023.

The shopping centre received recognition which is testament to the efforts it has put into prioritising the customers and the local community.

Angela Tierney, centre manager, said: “Receiving the gold award in the Community Commitment category is a tremendous honour for us. It is a recognition of the efforts of our dedicated team, the partnerships we have formed with local organisations, and the support we receive from the vibrant community of Bury. We take great pride in the work we do here.”

Angela Tierney and retail liaison Kelly Townend proudly represented Mill Gate Shopping Centre at the award ceremony, standing alongside esteemed industry leaders and champions of corporate social responsibility.

Their presence symbolised the dedication and passion that Mill Gate team members embody in their daily work.

The community is always at the heart of Mill Gate’s decision-making process, shaping the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, with businesses contributing positively to the communities they serve.

Mill Gate community-centric initiatives include charitable partnerships, local employment opportunities, supporting local businesses, and providing a safe and inclusive space for everyone. These endeavours are driven by the commitment to create a positive impact and leave a lasting legacy in Bury.

The awards ceremony, held at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on June 16th, recognised organisations that are at the forefront of Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) practices.

The annual awards honour businesses and institutions which demonstrate outstanding leadership in environmental sustainability programs, sustainable business models, green building initiatives, community impact, and innovation in sustainable technologies.
