Mill Gate Shopping Centre has been recognised on an international stage after being named a winner of the Commonwealth Environment and Corporate Social Responsibility Award 2026.
The award recognises organisations that have made an exceptional contribution to their local communities through meaningful engagement and positive social impact. Mill Gate has been honoured for its wide-ranging programme of community initiatives, partnerships, and events that have helped bring people together while supporting local organisations and causes.
The winners will be officially celebrated during a prestigious awards ceremony taking place alognside the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Friday 31 July, where Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to recipients.
Angela Tierney, Centre Manager at Mill Gate, said:

Over the past year, Mill Gate has continued to strengthen its role at the heart of Bury through a packed programme of community-focused events, fundraising activities, educational initiatives, and partnerships designed to create opportunities for people of all ages.
The Commonwealth Environment and Corporate Social Responsibility Awards celebrates organisations across the Commonwealth that demonstrate outstanding environmental stewardship and social responsibility, recognising those making a genuine difference within their communities. The specific level of Mill Gate's reward will be announced in Glasgow on 31 July.
