A man in his 50s was taken to hospital last night after an assault in Rochdale.
Police were called to Manchester Road at around 11pm yesterday evening (Saturday).
Emergency services attended and the male was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
He has since been released from hospital.
A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and he remains in custody for questioning.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 10.50pm on Saturday (31 October) police were called to reports of a disturbance on Manchester Road, Rochdale.
“Emergency services attended and a man in his 50 was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released from hospital.
“A man, aged 46, was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. He remains in police custody for questioning.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
The road near the Norton Grange Hotel was closed for just under two hours, according to TfGM.
