A man has been charged with murder following the death of a teenage boy in a collision involving a car and an e-bike in Middleton earlier this week.
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that 58-year-old Terrence King has been charged with murder after a teenage boy was killed in a crash on Rowrah Crescent, Middleton, on Tuesday 22 July 2025.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 11.55am, where the boy was pronounced dead despite the efforts of medics. His identity has not been formally released, and his family are being supported by specialist officers.
Terrence King, was arrested and has now been charged with murder. He appeared at Manchester Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday 24 July) and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Monday 28 July 2025.
As part of the wider investigation, a 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft. He has since been bailed while further enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Andrew Naismith of GMP’s Major Incident Team described the investigation as “moving at considerable pace”.
He said: “There is still much to do, and our officers are carefully combing through all available evidence to build a picture of the events of that day.”
Police have appealed for witnesses and urged the public not to share footage of the incident online, out of respect for the boy’s grieving family.
