A seventh person has been arrested in connection with the deadly terrorist attack on Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed.
Detectives from Counter Terrorism Policing North West detained a 31-year-old man at Manchester Airport on Thursday 27 November 2025. He was held on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism under UK terrorism laws. The man had arrived on an inbound flight and remains in custody for questioning.
The arrest follows the attack on the morning of 2 October, in which Jihad Al Shamie entered the synagogue and fatally injured Adrian Daulby and Melvin Cravitz. Three other men were taken to hospital with serious injuries, two of whom have since been discharged.
Assistant Chief Constable Rob Potts confirmed the latest development, saying the arrest came shortly after midday. “The loved ones of Mr Daulby and Mr Cravitz have been updated, as have those seriously injured in the attack,” he said. “Our investigation is continuing, and I would once again appeal for anyone with information that they think could assist our enquiries to please come forward.”
The force is also seeking to identify and speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or its immediate aftermath, in order to offer support services and further gather evidence. Potential witnesses or those with relevant information are urged to contact the investigation team via the Major Incident Public Portal or by calling 0161 856 3946.
The suspect is the seventh person arrested in connection with the synagogue attack. A 30-year-old man arrested on 9 October remains on bail after being detained under suspicion of failing to disclose information under section 38B of the Terrorism Act 2000.
