A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following a fire in Rochdale this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Manchester Road at around 6:30 am this morning.
Both Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service and Greater Manchester Police attended the scene.
No injuries have been reported.
The male remains in custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Matthew Hamer, of Rochdale CID, said: "This incident could have escalated and been much worse, putting other members of the public in danger. Our officers have moved quickly to identify and arrest a suspect."
