A main road in Bury is closed amid reports that a pedestrian has been knocked down.
B622 Bell Lane is closed in both directions between Parsonage Street and Deal Street.
The area is heavily congested with Shaw Street and Willow Street being used as a diversion, according to MancTraffic.
Greater Manchester Police are on scene along with colleagues from North West Ambulance Service.
AA Roadwatch added: "Road closed and very slow traffic due to accident on B6222 Rochdale Old Road both ways from B6219 Parsonage Street to Chesham Fold Road. The road has been closed since 18:45."
The road re-opened shortly after 8pm this evening (Thursday).
Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for comment.
