A new recycling campaign has local school children flexing their creative skills, as they have created works of art using recyclable materials.
All the artwork is displayed in Bury Market, inside the Market Hall opposite Bennett’s of Bury. All will be on display for the next 2 weeks, with a ballot box onsite for you to cast your vote.
The winning school will receive a £100 gift voucher.
The competition is running as part of Recycle for Greater Manchester’s In The Loop campaign which is all about raising awareness on the importance of recycling and reducing waste.
Opening the competition, and casting his vote, Councillor Alan Quinn, Cabinet Member for Environment, Climate Change and Operations, said “It is always a delight to see the creativity and passion of our young people in our borough. We know that climate change is something that Bury’s young people are very passionate about, so it is great to see them so engaged in a project that highlights the importance of recycling. These works of art demonstrate how we must continue to invest in our future and take action to reduce the effects of climate change.”
You can vote by heading down to the display at Bury Market and completing a voting slip. The display will be up until 4th November when the competition is finished, with the winning school to be announced soon after.
