Local Proclamation Ceremonies will take place in Bury and Rochdale on Sunday afternoon to announce King Charles III as sovereign.
Rochdale's ceremony will take place outside Number One Riverside in Rochdale Town Centre, whilst in Bury it will take place at Union Square opposite the down hall, both will start at 3pm.
The local proclamation will follow a national Proclamation of Ascension, which will be read in London tomorrow (Saturday 10 September)
The Proclamation will be read by the respective Mayor's, formally announcing to the borough that a new monarch is in place.
Flags are currently being flown at half-mast until 11am tomorrow, when they will be raised to full mast to mark the National Proclamation of the new monarch. They will then be lowered to half-mast at 1pm on Sunday in line with protocol.
