Littleborough is gearing up for a packed calendar of community events in 2025, kicking off this weekend with a band concert in Hare Hill Park.
Littleborough Brass Band will open this year's Summer Band Concerts programme with a performance in Hare Hill Park tomorrow, Sunday 18 May at 3pm.
The concert marks the beginning of a summer long series of live music events organised by Friends of Hare Hill Park, taking place monthly from May to September.
Confirmed dates include:
- 1 June – Whitworth Vale and Healey Band
- 6 July – Middleton Band
- 3 August – Blackley Band
- 7 September – Milnrow Band
In addition to the concerts, Littleborough Events and Associations Forum (LEAF) has unveiled a full 2025 events timetable, promising a variety of activities for residents and visitors throughout the year.
The Littleborough Food and Drink Festival returns on Saturday 14 June from 11am to 4pm. Roads in the town centre including Hare Hill Road and Victoria Street will be closed for the event, which will feature live music, cookery demonstrations, children's activities, and a wide array of food and drink stalls.
The Rushbearing Festival is scheduled for Saturday 12 July and will include the popular Viking re-enactments.
Another highlight is the Feel Good Family Picnic in Hare Hill Park on Thursday 31 July, organised by Rochdale Borough Council and Without Walls. The free event will include performances, workshops and a carnival parade, all under the theme of ‘co-operation’. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnic and reusable water bottles.
Celebrations continue at Hare Hill House, where several milestone events are planned:
- 26 April – Littleborough Cycle Parade
- 12 September – 250th anniversary of Hare Hill House
- 13–21 September – Heritage Open Days
- 9 November – Remembrance Day
The festive season will be welcomed with several Christmas-themed events:
- 29 November – Christmas Lights Switch-on in Littleborough Square
- 14 December – Children's Christmas Fair at Hare Hill House
- 21 December, 2–3.15pm – Carols around the Bandstand, Hare Hill Park
- 24 December, 5–5.45pm – Christmas Eve Carols at Hare Hill Park
LEAF has also confirmed the Littleborough Ladies Circle will hold a special Notes of Comfort remembrance event for Lynne Haworth on Sunday 25 May in Hare Hill Park.
