Labour has held a key seat on Bury Council this evening, with a win in Moorside.
Cllr Sandra Walmsley, who has held the seat since 2010, will now serve another four-year term, until May 2030.
Opposition parties were looking to nab the seat from the experienced councillor, but Labour held on with a majority of 278.
Reform UK's Alan Darby finished second with 1,030 votes, and Workers Party of Britain candidate Aamer Yasin received 609 votes, finishing third.
The Green Party's Craig Conor William Priestley secured 200 votes, Conservative candidate Jihyun Park received 108 votes, and Jill Budgen of Bury Independents polled 61 votes.
Overall turnout in the ward was recorded at 39 per cent.
This election was delayed from the May ballot, following the death of Victor Hagan, the Reform candidate who was named as the party’s candidate for the ward before his death.
