A Rochdale family has issued an urgent appeal to the public after their much-loved pony vanished from a field off Albert Royds Street.
The six-year-old boy who owns the pony is said to be “distraught” after she disappeared without trace earlier this week. A reward of £1,000 is now being offered for her safe return.
The pony was last seen in her field on Saturday 4 October at around 7pm. She was reported missing the following afternoon, on Sunday 5 October, when the family discovered she was no longer there.
Despite thorough searches of the field, nearby areas, and the river, there have been no sightings of the pony at all. Family members and volunteers have checked for signs of her being moved or injured, but nothing has been found to indicate where she might have gone.
The missing animal is a small black and white pony, and was last known to be secure in her usual paddock. The owner has not yet received any information that would suggest a break-in or escape, though all possibilities remain open.
The family told Roch Valley Radio: “We are offering a £1,000 reward as we just want her back safely. My little boy is devastated, this pony is his best friend.”
