A police cordon was set up in Middleton today, Tuesday 10 June, after a gunshot was fired through the window of a house, triggering a forensic investigation in a residential area.
Officers were called on Tuesday morning to reports of a shooting that is believed to have happened on Monday evening in the Langley area. A cordon was put in place around a green between Hawkshead Drive and Wood Street, with crime scene investigators seen examining the area.
Around six properties were taped off and police remained at the scene throughout the day as part of the ongoing investigation.
No one was injured in the incident and no arrests had been made as of Tuesday evening. Greater Manchester Police said that enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances.
Several police and TAU vehicles were parked at the scene while forensic teams carried out searches around the cordoned area this evening.
The shooting, believed to involve a single gunshot.
