A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a suspected targeted assault involving a knife on Bury New Road in Prestwich.
Greater Manchester Police were called to the scene at approximately 11.55am on Thursday morning, 10 July, following reports of a man armed with a knife.
Upon arrival, officers found a man with injuries. He was taken to hospital where he remains for treatment. Police have confirmed his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Four men, three in their 20s and one in his 30s, have been arrested on suspicion of serious assault and possession of Class A drugs. All remain in custody for questioning.
GMP said investigations are ongoing but believe this was a targeted attack with no wider threat to the community.
Local response and neighbourhood officers have been deployed to reassure residents in the area.
