An eviction notice has been issued after a flat in Heywood became a hotspot for anti social behaviour within weeks of a tenant moving in.
Reports of repeated incidents began shortly after the tenant moved into the property on Bury Street. Complaints from nearby residents described frequent visitors to the flat, along with drug use inside the property and in communal areas.
Drug related items including needles were found outside the address and near neighbouring homes. Residents also reported ongoing disturbances including arguments, loud music and fighting.
The property itself suffered significant damage. The front door was damaged and windows were smashed on several occasions.
The tenant was arrested during one incident after attending another property in Heywood which was subject to a closure order.
She also allowed her partner to stay at the address despite a restraining order preventing him from entering the property or contacting her. He was also in breach of a housing exclusion notice.
Housing officers and partner agencies made repeated attempts to work with the tenant, but she did not engage. Enforcement action included issuing exclusion letters to individuals visiting the property.
Although an undertaking was agreed at one stage and conditions briefly improved, further breaches followed.
The tenant, who had also built up significant rent arrears, did not attend a final court hearing on 26 March despite confirming she would be present. A possession order was granted in her absence following multiple breaches of the tenancy agreement.
