Emergency services rushed to the scene of a two-car crash on Edenfield Road in Rochdale on the evening of Monday 1 December, with a child and two adults treated for minor injuries.
The incident occurred shortly before 7pm near the Esso and Morrisons service station in Cutgate. Greater Manchester Police, paramedics and fire crews cordoned off the area at the junction with Caldershaw Road for approximately 40 minutes.
Two vehicles were visibly damaged within the police cordon, with emergency crews responding swiftly to make the area safe. According to Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, two fire engines from Rochdale Community Fire Station were deployed after receiving reports of a road traffic collision.
A spokesperson for GMFRS confirmed that three individuals, two adults and a child, had self-rescued prior to the arrival of emergency crews and were assessed at the scene by ambulance staff for minor injuries. Firefighters ensured the vehicles and surrounding area were made safe before handing over control of the scene to police officers.
The road has since reopened and no arrests have been reported at this stage. The cause of the crash has not yet been confirmed.
