Greater Manchester Police have uncovered more than £100,000 worth of all-terrain vehicles during a major operation in Radcliffe, Bury.
Yesterday, Friday 25 April, GMP’s Bury Challenger team executed two search warrants at industrial units on Bolton Street, leading to the seizure of nine all-terrain vehicles, including quad bikes, and five motorcycles. The vehicles, suspected of being linked to criminal activity, have been held under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
While no new arrests have been made, the investigation follows an earlier operation in April during the borough-wide crime initiative Operation AVRO. That warrant led to the discovery of these units and the vehicles now seized.
A 25-year-old man, previously arrested as part of the investigation, has been charged with drugs offences and is currently on remand. A 51-year-old woman remains on bail pending further inquiries.
Detective Sergeant Craig Murray from the Bury Challenger team said: “This is a prime example of when one thing potentially leads to another. Due to thorough investigative work, we have uncovered further items we believe could be connected to crime.
“By seizing these 14 high-powered vehicles, we’ve taken them off the streets, preventing their potential use in anti-social or dangerous ways. This also enables us to move forward with our enquiries.”
He added: “Our work to tackle organised crime and its impact on communities across Bury continues. We urge anyone with information to contact us on 101 or through Crimestoppers. Community intelligence is vital to help us keep people safe.”
