A shopping centre in Bury is aiming to “pass the positivity” in a series of initiatives designed to provide some feelgood factor for its visitors.
Mill Gate is hosting various pick-me-ups including a positivity wall in a bid to banish the winter blues and combat ongoing pressures such as the cost-of-living crisis.
Centre manager Angela Tierney said: “The positivity wall is full of lovely messages which visitors can take and share with someone who needs it. We also want you to share your own positive or supportive messages and leave them on the wall for others to enjoy.”
Mill Gate shoppers are invited to either write a message on a card provided and attach it to a balloon string, or simply remove a message from the wall to brighten up someone’s day. They are also urged to take a photo of their message and tag @Millgatebury on social media.
Other ways in which visitors can spread kindness include donations to the Food Bank and Book Nest.
Organic Soul are a local community organisation which helps to feed the homeless community. You can support them by donating canned or non-perishable goods at their Food Bank drop-off point located at Customer Services. Find out more about Organic Soul at www.facebook.com/organicsoul.uk
The Book Nest is there for you to indulge your love for reading. However, this literary haven is always looking for donations to share the enjoyment of reading with visitors.

Mill Gate also offers opportunities to support a whole range of charities, including People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals, British Heart Foundation and The A World, who supports those living with Autism.
The team also gave away balloons and chocolates in honour of Random Acts of Kindness Day recently.
