A teenager killed in a suspected targeted attack in Bury has been named locally as Brandon Kershaw, as tributes continue to be laid at the scene.
A murder investigation is underway after 19 year old Brandon Kershaw died following a collision involving a car on Porritt Street, Bury, on the evening of Monday 19 May.
Greater Manchester Police were called to the area at around 8.10pm after reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. Despite the efforts of emergency services, Brandon was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning. Officers believe this was a targeted attack, though they are reassuring the public that there is no wider threat to the community.
Forensic teams remained at the scene on Tuesday, with a cordon still in place around Porritt Street and parts of Hoyles Park. A blue forensic tent was also erected at the site. St Paul’s CE Primary School on Porritt Street was closed due to the police presence.
Rochdale Coroner’s Court has confirmed that a file has been received in relation to Brandon’s death.
Floral tributes and messages have been left near the scene, with close friends and local residents gathering throughout the day to pay their respects. Many mourners have described Brandon as kind, loyal and deeply loved by those around him.
Comments left online include: “Rest easy Brandon,” and “R.I.P. taken too young man, you will always be like another brother to me.”
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that Brandon’s family has been informed and is receiving support from specially trained officers.
Detective Superintendent Wesley Knights said: “Firstly, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family of the deceased during this incredibly difficult time. This is a truly tragic incident which has seen a young man lose his life.

“I would like to reassure the public that this was a targeted attack and there is no wider threat to the community. Local officers will remain in the area making enquiries, as well as an increased number of highly visible patrols overnight and into Tuesday. If you have any concerns, please speak to them.”
