Greater Manchester Police are on the scene at The Rock this morning after Barclays Bank was smashed up and sprayed with red paint.
Barclays Bank has been one of the prime targets for activist groups over recent months, with Palestine Action and other groups such as Just Stop Oil, where supporters have been spraying branches in orange paint.

A spokesperson for Savills has said:
As the managing agent for The Rock, Bury, Savills can confirm that one of the stores at the centre was vandalised in the early hours of this morning (Monday 10th June). This is currently a police matter and we are fully supporting the ongoing investigation.

The group claiming responsibility for these attacks on Barclays branches across Greater Manchester over recent weeks is the campaign group Palestine Action have this morning claimed responsibility, as well as targeting 19 other banks for 'investments in genocide' as published this morning on their X account.

The cordon is currently around the Barclays Branch at the bottom of the shopping centre on Central Street. Images taken by Ian Hargreaves show that red paint has been sprayed around the exterior of the building, and the main entrance is entirely smashed up.
