An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and drug offences in Bury.
Police were called to Booth Street in Tottington this morning to reports that a woman had been raped.
A large police presence was spotted in the area throughout the morning with a number of vehicles on scene, close to the junction with Rhode Street.
The victim, in her 20s, is being supported by specialist officers.
Enquires are continuing, but it’s believed to be an isolated incident.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Just before 8.30am this morning (Friday 10 December 2021), police were called to reports that a woman in her 20s had been raped at an address near to Booth Street, Tottington.
“Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. However, police do believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to the public.
“The victim is being supported by specialist officers.
“A man - aged 18 - was arrested at the scene on suspicion of rape and drug offences. He remains in custody.”
