The Rainbow Train will return to the tracks on Sunday 19 April 2026, with Bury LGBTQI+ Forum inviting the public to climb aboard for a joyful, inclusive ride in support of LGBTQI+ visibility.
The event, a firm favourite in the Bury Pride calendar, will once again depart from the Bolton Street Station on the East Lancashire Railway in Bury. This year’s Rainbow Train promises music, colour, community and celebration, welcoming both LGBTQI+ people and allies to take part.
Organised by the Forum as part of the wider Bury Pride programme, the journey is designed to unite people across Greater Manchester and beyond. It aims to raise awareness, promote inclusivity and create a safe space for people to express themselves proudly while enjoying a scenic railway journey.
Tickets are available now via the official Bury Pride website: www.burypride.co.uk
A spokesperson for Bury LGBTQI+ Forum said:
The Rainbow Train is a moving celebration of pride and visibility. We’re excited to welcome people back on board this April and look forward to seeing the route filled with colour, music and unity.
The money we raise from the Rainbow Train helps us host other events throughout the year. Previous years have always been well attended, and we hope to bring more of the community together.
Past events have seen carriages filled with rainbow flags, upbeat tunes and conversation, with passengers sharing the experience of being visible, proud and together.
Spaces are limited and early booking is encouraged, for further details please visit https://www.burypride.co.uk
