Renowned local hospitality business The Royal Toby has renewed their support of Rochdale Feel Good Festival and are an official partner of this summer’s event.

The popular hotel and restaurant on Manchester Road in Castleton has sponsored the event for many years, looking after hundreds of visitors and guests who flock to Rochdale every summer for one of the most eagerly awaited weekends on the calendar.

Danny Tujeshyn, executive general manager, said the festival buzz is great for the town: “It’s a fantastic event that I have enjoyed many times, and one of our busiest weekends of the year. As a business we have been supporting the Feel Good Festival for years and it’s a great event to be part of.”

Awarded the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for the seventh year running, The Royal Toby has recently completed a major £1 million refurbishment of its bedrooms, bridal suites and function suite. With two restaurants on site, Rhyddings function suite, 53 bedrooms and a lodge annex, it is a popular venue for conferences and weddings. As well as marketing the festival to residents and customers The Royal Toby will have a presence at the event showcasing their restaurants, wedding packages and hotel deals.

Councillor Sue Smith, cabinet member for communities and co-operation at Rochdale Borough Council visited The Royal Toby this week to take a look at the upgrade and thank the team for their support: “We are pleased to be working with the team at The Royal Toby again, another long established local business with its roots very much in Rochdale as we prepare for the return of the festival. Now the event is running over three days including a main stage line-up on the Sunday too, there is even more reason to extend your visit by staying overnight.”

On Saturday 10 August Rochdale Feel Good Festival will feature a showcase of top class entertainment. Headliners Ocean Colour Scene, Lottery Winners and Heather Small - the voice of M People, will be joined by soul, pop and funk artist Toucan, ska band Madame Claude, indie R’n’B pop star iamkyami, local rock band Atlas and DJ Dave Sweetmore on the main stage, a programme of entertainment across indoor venues plus quality food and drink.

On Sunday 11 August the main stage features a free afternoon of folk music produced by Sound Roots and funded by Arts Council England, headlined by Ríoghnach Connolly & Honeyfeet alongside party band Marvara, new Rochdale musical Peter's Field featuring Sean Cooney, Eliza Carthy MBE, Sam Carter and another act to be announced.

Kicking off the weekend on Friday 9 August is the ‘Feel Good Fringe,’ a series of free indoor gigs featuring 17 acts at ten venues across the town. More details on this and all the acts playing at indoor venues during the festival will be announced later this month.

Saturday tickets (£15, or VIP tickets £40) at rochdale.gov.uk/FeelGoodFestival or in person at Middleton Arena.
