A dozen have gathered this evening outside Bury Town Hall to protest for a ceasefire in Palestine.
On the evening of Wednesday, February 21st, a small group of approximately a dozen members of the public gathered outside Bury Town Hall to voice a fervent plea for peace in Palestine before the Bury Council Budget Meeting.
The demonstrators, equipped with banners and signs, braved the cold to make a stand against the ongoing conflict, urging local councillors to advocate for a ceasefire and put an end to the suffering caused by the hostilities.
The protest, though very modest in numbers, was promoting its message and determination. A member of the public we spoke to that had attended to support the group, speaking on condition of anonymity, shared with us their purpose and hope behind the demonstration. "We are stood here to demand that the council push for a ceasefire in Palestine and stop the atrocities. Our presence signifies not just a plea for peace but a call to action for our local leaders to use their influence for the betterment of humanity," the individual stated.
Several members are hoping to attend the Bury Council Budget Meeting by sitting in the public gallery.
