Community-centred organisation Get Together After Serving CIC (GTAS) has been awarded £20,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund, allowing the group to expand its vital support for military veterans, families, and residents across Rochdale.
This funding will enable GTAS to continue its mission to improve mental and physical well-being for those who have served, while also providing new opportunities for underprivileged children and fostering stronger community connections.
GTAS, based in Rochdale, supports veterans, former public service workers, and local residents who need help. The £20,000 grant will enhance its work in several key areas:
-
Providing mental health and physical well-being services for veterans.
-
Delivering sports, music, and mentoring opportunities for underprivileged children.
-
Hosting community events that bring people together and inspire lasting change.
A spokesperson for GTAS said: “This incredible support will have a life-changing impact on so many people in the Rochdale community – from veterans finding renewed purpose to children gaining new opportunities to grow and thrive.
“We want to extend a huge thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund and to everyone who supports GTAS. This is just the beginning of something amazing, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact this funding will have.”
GTAS is encouraging local residents to get involved in its upcoming programmes, with more updates to be shared soon.
