A Rochdale man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for sexually assaulting three victims between 1987 and 1998
A man from Rochdale has been jailed for a string of non-recent child sex offences, nearly four decades after they were committed.
Aslam Khan, formerly known as Maurice ‘Morris’ Wynn, of Maitland Close, Rochdale, was sentenced at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Friday 25 July 2025. The 61-year-old was handed a seven-year custodial sentence for seven counts of indecent assault relating to three victims.
The offences took place between 1987 and 1998, all within the Rochdale area. Khan was also made subject to a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Detective Constable Stacey of Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team praised the survivors for coming forward after so many years. “I would like to thank the victims in this case who came forward nearly 40 years later and reported their abuse to us,” she said. “Sexual abuse knows no time limits – regardless of when it happened or your age at the time, we are here to listen.”
She added that police remain committed to thoroughly investigating non-recent sexual abuse allegations. “These cases are complex and require a sensitive, thorough approach to ensure that survivors feel supported and heard.”
DC Stacey also reassured other potential victims of historic abuse that their voices matter. “Your allegations will be taken seriously, and you will be treated with dignity and respect. Our commitment is to pursue the truth and hold perpetrators accountable, no matter how much time has passed.”
