Residents over 50 with ambitions to start their own business are being offered free expert support through a dedicated event at Bury Library next month.
The ‘Build a Business’ workshop, aimed specifically at so-called ‘Olderpreneurs’, will take place on Thursday 5 March from 10am to 12.30pm.
Participants will hear directly from local entrepreneurs who launched their ventures later in life and can enjoy free refreshments and a light brunch while networking.
The event is open to anyone over 50 living in Greater Manchester who is considering setting up a business, and booking is now available online. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/olderpreneurs-starting-your-business-over-50-tickets-1980556641229?aff=oddtdtcreator
Support will not end with the event. Attendees will also be able to access a range of free ongoing services through Bury Library’s business support network, including one-to-one advice from their local Enterprise Officer and use of the Business & IP Centre (BIPC) Manchester’s resources.
These resources include access to a £5 million database of UK and international market research, company data and financial information to help new founders understand trends and plan effectively.
‘Build a Business in GM Libraries’ is part-funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and managed by Manchester City Council.
For more information, local residents can contact Claire Stirrup at Bury Library on 0161 253 5846 or via email at c.h.stirrup@bury.gov.uk
