Police have arrested 31 people in relation to its Operation Avro action in Rochdale this morning.
Officers from the force have executed dawn raids on several properties where firearms, drugs & counterfeit cigarettes were seized.
A joint traffic operation alongside the DVSA & Rochdale Council on Kingsway saw action taken also including window tints & illegal registration plates.
It’s expected officers will continue throughout the day with public transport also being a focus of the resources of the force today.
Chief Superintendent Danny Inglis, Rochdale District Commander said: “The overall aim is to send a message of reassurance to the public. It’s about saying these are things you’ve told us are concerning and we are responding to that appropriately.
“I think it’s important we set up in a way that tackles the issues that we are concerned about.”
