Bury FC have confirmed that ten players have departed the club following the end of the 2024/25 season, including long-serving midfielder Nicky Adams, who has announced his retirement from football.

Manager Dave McNabb has spoken with each member of his squad to discuss next steps ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

The players leaving the club are:

  • Nicky Adams (retired)

  • Lewis Byrne

  • Will Calligan

  • Sam Coughlan

  • Morgan Homson-Smith

  • Louis Jeanne

  • Ruben Jerome

  • Reece Kendall

  • Courtney Meppen-Walters

  • Gaz Peet

Manager Dave McNabb said: “I’d just like to thank all of the lads who are moving on. They have all played a significant part of what we’ve achieved this year. They’re all very talented players and, above that, great lads. Good luck for the future.”

The club has also placed on record its thanks to all players who contributed to a historic promotion season and offered best wishes to those moving on in their careers.

The Shakers will be playing their football in Step 4 of non-league football next season after a record 109 point won them the North West Counties League Premier Division.
