Clinical braces from Coates, Chlodek and Mason seal dominant 6-0 win
Dale Women signed off their final league home match of the season in emphatic fashion with a 6-0 thrashing of Mossley Hill, thanks to clinical finishing and relentless pressure across the pitch.
It was a game of doubles as Sophie Coates, Hanna Chlodek and substitute Daisy Mason all netted twice. The win further cemented Dale’s strong form heading into the final stretch of the season.
Dale set the tone early. Just three minutes in, Darcy Moran worked space cleverly and slid Chlodek in behind the defence. Her unselfish square pass found Coates, who finished sharply for 1-0.
Mossley looked for a quick response, but their best effort flew well wide of the post.
With Nicole Malpus strong at the back and Dale dominant in midfield, further chances fell to Katie King, Coates and Chlodek, who all went close before the pressure told again.
Midway through the half, Chlodek found herself one-on-one with the keeper after a neat exchange with Coates. She coolly rounded the goalkeeper and smashed home the second.
After the break, Coates made it 3-0 with a fierce strike too powerful for the Mossley keeper to stop, bringing her season tally to 37.
Five minutes later, Chlodek joined her on a brace, capping another flowing team move to make it four.

The game turned further in Dale’s favour when Mossley were reduced to ten players. After Moran won the ball cleanly and played forward, a Mossley player was shown red for lashing out off the ball.
Daisy Mason, introduced from the bench, made an instant impact. She added Dale’s fifth with a tidy finish, then wrapped up the rout with a composed chip over the keeper after winning back possession high up the pitch.
Assistant manager Jordan Morris praised the team's performance. Speaking to the club website, he said: “Everything we’ve worked on in training came together today. The passing, the movement, the intensity – it all clicked. Sophie’s had a brilliant season and we think she’ll reach 40 goals.”
Looking ahead to the cup clash against Crewe, Morris added: “Next week will be a real test, but if we match this level of performance, we’ve got every chance.”
