The parliamentary by election takes place on Thursday 26th February following the resignation of MP Andrew Gwynne, who stood down on medical grounds.

Several parties have now announced their candidates, with more expected to be confirmed ahead of the close of nominations.

The list below is correct at the time of writing and is ordered alphabetically by surname.

Charlotte Cadden (Conservative Party)

Matt Goodwin (Reform UK)

Sebastian Moore (Social Democratic Party)

Joseph O'Meachair (Rejoin EU Party)

Jackie Pearcey (Liberal Democrats)

Hannah Spencer (Green Party)

Angeliki Stogia (Labour Party)

The seat was last contested at the general election in July 2024, when Mr Gwynne secured a Labour majority of more than 13,000.
