A man in his 50s is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a serious motorcycle crash on the M60 near Stockport on Saturday afternoon, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed.
Emergency services were called shortly after 1.40pm on Saturday 12 July 2025 to reports of a collision involving a single motorcycle on the anti-clockwise carriageway between junctions 25 (Bredbury) and 24 (Denton).
The rider, a man in his 50s, was treated at the scene and transported to hospital in critical condition. His family have been informed.
Investigators from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for information and footage from the public as they continue to establish the full circumstances of the incident. At this stage, it is not believed any other vehicles were involved.
In a statement, GMP said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident, to get in touch. We’re especially keen to speak to drivers travelling on the anti-clockwise side of the M60 between junctions 25 and 24 just before or around 1.40pm on Saturday.”
Officers also expressed thanks to members of the public who stopped at the scene to provide initial first aid.
