A man has been charged with murder following a fatal incident near the Elk Mill roundabout in Chadderton earlier this week.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that Andrew Robson, 32, of Fold Green, Chadderton, has been charged with the murder of a 50-year-old man. He is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court today, Saturday 29 March 2025.
Emergency services were called to Broadway, Chadderton, on the evening of Wednesday 26 March 2025, after reports of a violent altercation between two drivers. Despite the efforts of first responders, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, GMP said:
“We initially responded to reports of a fight between two drivers close to the Elk Mill roundabout. The victim, a man aged 50, sadly died at the scene despite the best efforts of emergency services. We continue to support his family at this extremely difficult time.”
A police cordon was set up in the area as officers carried out enquiries. The road was temporarily closed to allow for a full forensic investigation.
The incident has shocked the local community, with many expressing condolences to the victim’s family.
