Radcliffe FC has confirmed the appointment of Anthony Johnson & Bernard Morley as new first-team managers.
The pair arrive at the Neuven Stadium ahead of the 2023/24 season, following the departure of Bobby Grant eight days ago.
Johnson & Morley are well known in the non-league pyramid and started out at Ramsbottom United in 2009.
After a league title and a play-off win, they joined Salford City in January 2014. The pair gained three promotions at the club as well as a number of good FA Cup runs.
Following their time at Moor Lane, the pair joined Chester and then Spennymoor Town, in which they left in September 2022.
It's their first job since leaving the northeast-based club and are excited to get going again in their home town.
Speaking to Radcliffe FC's YouTube channel, Johnson said: “The improvement of the football club has been unbelievable to see as we’re local lads, so we’ve seen it grow from double figures in attendance to high three figures and touching four at times. Our ambitions match those at the club so we knew it was the right decision to come here, the visions align and we know where we want to get to.
"We’re absolutely buzzing to be here, the fans have passion and it’s up to us to make sure they have a team on the pitch that put the shirt on to go out and put 100% in every game and are desperate to win.”
Morley made 16 appearances for the club during the 2005/06 season, upon his appointment he said: “The timings key for me in particular after a short break away from the game, but I’m ready to go again now and we’re excited to get started.”
The club have described the pair as the perfect candidates to take the club forward and are looking to build on the season just gone.
