Skepta draws huge crowd with standout Parklife performance

Skepta attracts one of the largest audiences of the day at Parklife as fans packed The Valley stage to watch the grime star perform at Heaton Park. The appearance marks another major Manchester show for the artist following a high profile visit to the city earlier this year.

Thousands of festival goers gathered at The Valley stage as Skepta delivered one of the most anticipated sets of the opening day of Parklife.

The rapper and producer, regarded as one of the most influential figures in British grime, performed before a packed audience as the festival entered its busiest evening period.

His appearance came just months after he dazzled crowds in Manchester during the MOBO Awards celebrations, which brought some of the biggest names in music to the city. The return to Greater Manchester was met with a similarly enthusiastic response from Parklife fans.

Throughout the performance, Skepta showcased material spanning his career, with festival goers responding enthusiastically to tracks that have helped define the UK grime scene over the past decade.

The artist was among the biggest names on Saturday's line up, sharing the bill with a host of DJs, producers and live performers appearing across the festival's five stages.

Large crowds had gathered throughout the day for artists including Josh Baker, Prospa and Artful Dodger, but the audience swelled further as fans made their way towards The Valley for Skepta's appearance.

His performance reinforced Parklife's reputation for attracting some of the most influential artists in contemporary British music while providing one of the standout moments of the weekend.
